Sadie Brown Burgess with her daughter Martha Jane Burgess. Martha Jane lived her life in Huntington, WV. She resided with her long time friend Betty B. Williams. She never married. Both Martha Jane and Betty are buried in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV. Sadie is buried in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale, Ohio.

This is a photo of Winifred Grace Brown who went by the nickname Winnie. The photo was taken in 1903 when she was 3 years old. Winnie was the oldest daughter of Oscar and Lucina Weeks Brown. She was born August 9. 1900 but died November 24, 1915 when she was only 15 years old. On the Brown farm family members shared cups when drinking from the well. Both she and her brother had drank from the same cup, a cup which was infected with typhoid. Ed survived the disease but Winnie did not.
